Penguin Doh-See-Doh

1/9/22

It’s probably a little late for this almost holiday-like image, but it is cheerful, and we all need cheer at this time of year. This started out as a single bird from Unsplash. By using various techniques and PS magic, along with string of lights from AdobeStock, I ended up with this pair square dancing in the snow.

Based on my last experience square dancing — over 20 years ago — dancing  in snow must be very difficult. A friend and I attended aerobic dance classes for several years. Then that studio went out of business, we tried other dance exercise classes to see if we could find another one we liked. One was hip-hop aerobics; 45 minutes of jumping jacks to hip hop songs. Nope! Then we found a singles square dancing group. Since it was mostly little old men in their 70’s, and we were only pushing 5o, we were welcomed with open arms. I thought that this would-be easy, after all, I’d done square dancing before and we were fresh out of dance aerobics. It only took about 20 minutes for those fellas to dance us right into the ground. I’m huffing and puffing, barely able to stand up and the gents weren’t even breathing hard. Maybe there were sitting out some of the dances??? Susan and I still giggle over that experience. What an eye-opener about my fitness!

Tomorrow starts a new 5-week session of classes at the Art Center. There are on-going workshops on Wednesday mornings: 3 paper craft and one intro to the new free CreativeCloud Express Post. I noticed today that there are some technical difficulties on booking dates for some workshops. Hopefully, we’ll get that cleared up tomorrow. The next session of classes start February 21st. Book on line at least a week before classes start. The new classes should be up by the second week in February.

I would up the last make-up class of Advanced Photoshop yesterday. I’d planned on getting gas on the way home as it was a fairly warm, sunny day. I hadn’t realized to was so windy until I got out of the car and started fumbling with my credit card and the bajillion digit coupons code to get $0.75 cents off a gallon. Apparently I put the code in wrong the first time, a0o9 I had to dance everything and start over. By then, even thou I was wearing mitts (bare fingers) by. That time, I couldn’t feel my fingers, and fumbled the zip code for the credit card. Drat. I was too cold, and too impatient to try a third time, so I got back in the car and headed home. I figured I could just get gas on my way into the Art Center. You’ll never guess tomorrow’s forecast. Cloudy with a high of 18˚ F. Yay!?!?
